Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Diligence refers to careful and persistent effort or work. Some of the qualities of a diligent person are;- hard work, perseverance, focus, responsibility, self-discipline, attention to detail, goal-oriented, adaptability, initiative, continuous improvement, positive attitude, and time management.
Diligence can never go unrewarded just as the scripture in Hebrews has stated. “Diligence always attracts a reward.” Let’s look at a number of scriptures that confirm this truth.
“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” – Proverbs 10:4
“A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied” – Proverbs 13:4
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” – Proverbs 22:29
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.” – Colossians 3:23-24
It is amazing that a drop of water can crack open a rock not by violence but by often falling.
As we reflect on 2025, let’s embrace our 2026 resolutions with diligence, and results will definitely be guaranteed.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, through Your Word we have understood that our earnest efforts are never in vain. As we set our goals for 2026, grant us steadfast faith and perseverance. Help us remain focused, disciplined, and committed in all we do. May our work bring glory to You, and may we trust that every act of diligence will be rewarded in Your perfect way. Strengthen our resolve to pursue our aspirations with purpose and unwavering hope.
